2023 MdPHA Annual Conference Highlights

On Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, MdPHA hosted its annual event! This year's theme was "Restoring Trust in Public Health" and our speakers included: 

    Dr. Laura Scott, Secretary of Health for the Maryland Department of Health. A healthcare leader with expertise across decades in integrating value-based care philosophy with clinical and population health strategies, Dr. Scott served as Executive Vice President of Population Health at Summit Health and as Vice President of Clinical Strategy and Product at Anthem. She is also a veteran of the United States Army Reserves, serving from 1998-2008 as a Major in the Medical Corps. 

    Ella Greene-Moton, President-Elect for the American Public Health Association. With an extensive background in Public Health Advocacy, Public Health Policy, Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR), and programming, Ms. Greene-Moton has over 40 years of experiences working in and around Flint, Michigan and has worked to elevate the community voice and advocate for community inclusiveness at both the national and state levels.

    Dr. Gregory Branch, Director & Health Officer for the Baltimore County Department of Health & Human Services. Having served as Baltimore County Health Officer for more than 16 years and over 20 years in the medical field as an internist, Dr. Branch is well-versed in the various health challenges of Marylanders. Dr. Branch was on the frontlines of the Covid-19 pandemic in Baltimore and continues to passionately advocate for the Baltimore community.
